In this workshop, you will explore Alvin Lucier's Memory Space (1970), which asks artists to recreate found sound environments. Working in collaboration with your fellow artists, you'll develop and document a 5-minute piece turning found sound into a graphic score, and ultimately performing it as a group. Get to know the sound environment in and around the New School and other artists from across the College while creating exciting, experimental work.Â
Students with portable musical instruments are encouraged to bring them to this workshop.
